Project Overview: This musical chronicle tells the epic story of Scotland’s relentless fight for freedom, identity, and survival. Captured through evocative lyrics that breathes life into the spirit of Caledonia.
- The journey begins in AD 79 with the arrival of the Roman invaders.
- From there, the story and the songs leap forward to March 1286—the catalyst for Scotland’s legendary Wars of Independence against the English crown. (1296 - 1328) & (1332 - 1357)
- The story then moves to 1745 and the rise of the Jacobite’s, where Bonnie Prince Charlie unfurls his standard at Glenfinnan, culminating in the heart-wrenching defeat on Drumossie Moor (Culloden)
- Finally, the chronicle reflects on the tragic Highland Clearances, when generations were forced from their ancestral lands to make way for sheep.
